A very early "Feliz Navidad" for Alfonso Soriano

What a great country. In fact, what a wonderful country.

Alfonso Soriano signed a big deal with the Cubs today. According to MLB:

"Alfonso Soriano's 40-40-40 season now equals $136 million."

It is apparently the 5th largest contract ever.

Will he help the Cubs? Alfonso will hit a lot of HRs in Wrigley Field. However, I'm not sure that one hitter makes that much of a difference in Chicago.

Everybody loves the Cubs. I hope that Alfonso has a monster year. However, Cubs' fans should pray that Kerry Wood and Mark Pryor are healthy next year.
