CNN, the video and my friend's son is killed in Iraq

A few days, the despicable CNN was running a video showing how American GI's were killed by terrorists.

Many were angry with CNN. See
Lawmaker Faults CNN for Sniper Video:

"Does CNN want America to win this thing?" Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., asked in an interview Monday on the network. In past wars, he said, the press was more pro-American. "You can't be on both sides of the war," Hunter said.

CNN issued a statement saying the decision to air the insurgents' video was "a difficult one, but for a news organization, the right one. Our responsibility is to report the news."

Report the news by giving terrorists free worldwide publicity?

See
CNN Sniper Video Lies About Terrorist Targets by Michael Medved:

"There is no justification for the outrageous decision by CNN to air terrorist propaganda video of deadly snipers in action. If their own cameramen and technical crews had secured such footage, the network might argue more credibly about the newsworthy aspects of the images, but since the video of terrorist “operations” was prepared and provided by the insurgents themselves, CNN is clearly, unequivocally cooperating with disinformation efforts to sway US public opinion some two weeks before a crucial election."

See This is CNN:

"This sort of forced logic does a poor job of masking CNN's and its defenders' real motives. Their goal here is to undermine the war effort, even if that means being a mouthpiece for terrorist propaganda."

Today, I got the news that my friend's son was killed in Iraq by a sniper. He was 21 and a local kid. His parents are good church friends.

Free press is a wonderful thing. Irresponsible journalism that undermines the war and exposes our soldiers to greater harm is unforgivable.

While I think the American people need to know the truth about this war, I do not agree that airing this is the right way to treat or respect the family members of the slain soldiers. Those soldiers gave their lives for this country, no matter what we believe about this war, or whether some of us think it was a huge mistake.
I do not think this undermines the war, however. Even our conservative generals say it is lost, unless something changes.
We are in a huge civil war over there, and we have lost control already.
